Software Developer

The Software Engineer will design and develop complex new software products, or make significant enhancements to
existing software. The ideal candidate is a hands-on developer with significant experience in developing scalable data
platforms, with experience in business intelligence, analytics, data science and data products. They must have strong,
firsthand technical expertise in a variety of big data technologies and the proven ability to fashion robust scalable
solutions that can manage large data sets. They must be at ease working in an agile environment with little
Job Responsibilities
- Designing, programming/developing, and modifying software systems, applications, and tools, both existing and potentially new in the future
- Analyzing user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints
- Correcting errors by making the appropriate changes and then re-checking the program to ensure the desired result was produced
- Conducting testing of program and software applications to be sure they will produce the desired results and that instructions are correct
- Organizing and maintaining documentation of application development and subsequent revisions, so others are able to understand the program
- Collaborating with teammates, other service providers, vendors, and users to develop new programming method
- Develop and enhance complex new software products in a self-directed, agile environment.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to obtain Government security clearance – must be a US citizen
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or IT field
- 1-5 years of relevant experience
- Experience with Java and object oriented programming
- Experience with C/C++, Scala, Groovy, Python, and/or shell scripting a plus
- Javascript development experience with Angular, React, ExtJS and/or Node.js a plus
- Experience with distributed computing technologies including Hadoop, HBase, Cassandra, Elasticsearch and Apache Spark a plus
- AWS experience a plus
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience working with modern programming languages including Java, Java Script, Python, and other
non-relational databases.
- Hands-on experience working with Elastic Search, Mongo DB, Node, Hadoop, Map Reduce, Spark, Rabbit MQ, and
- DevOps experience building and deploying cloud infrastructure with technologies like Ansible, Cloud Formation,
- Capable of delivering on multiple competing priorities with little supervision.
- We’re looking for someone with hands-on experience and is familiar with the following software/tools:
- Experience with infrastructure automation technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, etc.
- Experience with monitoring technologies like ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.
- Experience with building APIs and services using REST, SOAP, etc.
- Experience with building automation technologies like Maven, Jenkins, etc.
